Simmons College is committed to maintaining and supporting a multicultural community, and our international students are a key part of this commitment. Our students come from many different racial, ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds. They represent almost every state in the U.S. and close to 30 countries. African American, Latina, Asian American, multiracial, and Native American students make up about 20 percent of the undergraduate student body.
"When I visited Simmons my senior year of high school, I remember thinking what a diverse campus it was. I saw students of all races and ethnicities going to class together, whereas it wasn't as noticeable at other schools I visited. When I learned of the Culture Matters class, a requirement for first-year students, I realized how committed Simmons was to diversity." — Valerie Seiden '03
