Women's studies courses, whether taken as part of the major or to enrich another discipline, invite students to understand past and present experiences in order to prepare for challenges in their careers, families, and communities.

Minor in Women's Studies:
A minor in women’s studies includes WST 100, WST 204, WST 304, and two women’s studies electives.

Major in Women's Studies:
36 semester hours to be taken as follows:

12 Semester Hours In:
WST 100 Issues in Women's Studies
HIST 204 Roots of Feminism
WST 200 Issues in International Women's Studies
4 semester hours in a race/ethnicity course selected from one of the following:
Choose four semester hours from the following:
HIST 213 Race and Ethnicity in U.S. History
PHIL 223 Philosophy of Race and Gender
SOCI 311 Critical Race Legal Theory
AST 325 Critical Race Feminism/Womanism
Electives:

Twelve semester hours chosen from the list of women’s studies electives at the end of this section. A course taken to fulfill the race/ethnicity requirement may not also count as an elective.

Advanced Work:
Wst 304 Feminist Theory
Choose four additional semester hours of advanced work, chosen from: WST 300, 350, 355, 370, AST 325, ECON 395, ENGL 308, HIST 330, PHIL 300, SOCI 311, or SOCI 348.

A course taken to fulfill the race/ethnicity requirement may not also count toward this requirement.
