Speaking just a few days after the election, Ambassador Carrington will discuss how much latitude the newly elected President has to restore American prestige abroad and explore our national security priorities for the next four years.

With the campaigns underway and the debates about to begin, we Americans are focusing on our choices for November. Although "all politics are local," as Tip O'Neill famously said, American elections have significant global consequences. Far beyond our borders, the world is watching the American election with fascination and concern. This lecture will be an impartial look at the ramifications of your vote abroad: the international context of the election, the worldview of the two parties, and the foreign policy differences between the candidates.

An annual event held on the Residential campus quad during Senior Week: Seniors vs. Faculty in an informal softball game.  This year Political Science and IR had a very strong showing.

An event hosted by the Lee Family Foundation Intern Fellowship Program on April 8th 2008 in the Kotzen Room on Simmons' Campus. Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray spoke on Leadership and Gender in Massachusetts State Politics. This event was open to the public and followed by a private reception attended by Senate President Therese Murray, and other members of the Massachusetts Senate, alumna Barbara Lee, Barbara Lee Student Fellows and many important members of the Simmons community.
