Major in Philosophy
The Philosophy major, regardless of whether it is to be single or double, requires 40 semester hours (ten courses). All majors must take Philosophy 122 (Critical Thinking) or Philosophy 123 (Symbolic Logic), Phil 230 (Ethical Theory), at least three courses in the history of philosophy (Philosophy 241, 242, 243, 244, 245), at least two other intermediate level courses, and the seminar, Philosophy 390, which may be taken more than once and counts toward the independent learning requirement.
