Dr. Herbold recently published a paper in Topics in Clinical Nutrition,"Politics, Demographics, and Social Trends on Nutrition Topics in Print Media"(2006). Other research interests include complementary therapies and weight management issues. Dr. Herbold has woked as a consultant for corporate wellness programs, health agencies, and individuals wanting to improve their nutritional well-being. She is past-president of the Massachusetts Dietetic Assocation and former two term delegate to the American Dietetic Association. Dr. Herbold has worked as a consultant for corporate wellness programs, home health agencies, and individuals wanting to improve their nutritional well-being. She is a past president of the Massachusetts Dietetic Association. Dr. Herbold also completed a fellowship in adolescent nutrition at Children's Hospital, Boston. She is a member of the state's Nutrition Board and is on the Advisory Committee for the Massachusetts Pediatric Overweight Initiative funded by the Centers for Disease control. Dr. Herbold has brought Simmons students to Italy,in the summer, to study the Mediterranean diet. She is the Co-Director for the Center of Hygiene and Health in Home and Community and traveled to Peru to the Institute de Invetigacion Nutritional to explore with colleagues joint interests in improving food safety for newly weaned infants.
