Simmons is a small, private college that has provided an innovative
liberal arts curriculum interwoven with practical work experience
for women since 1899. Today, Simmons offers many of the advantages
of a university, including renowned co-educational graduate programs.
In addition to over 2000 undergraduate women, there are over 2600 graduate women and men.
Classes at Simmons boast an average student-to-faculty
ratio of 13:1, which allows professors to give students quality and
individual attention. The undergraduate curriculum of liberal arts
and sciences, professional studies, and practical career preparation
includes more than 40 majors and programs with minors in most departments.
In addition, Simmons offers accelerated graduate degree programs
and pre-professional programs in law, medicine, veterinary science,
pharmacy, and dentistry. Special programs include an honors program,
short-term study abroad, community service, and Women in Materials,
a brand new science and engineering research project in collaboration
with Cornell University.
More than 190 full-time professors, the majority of whom hold doctoral
or highest appropriate degrees in their field, bring their enthusiasm,
