What is the Boston Semester at Simmons?
The Boston Semester at Simmons is a 16-credit semester that integrates course
work, internships, and optional community service or service learning opportunities
in the Greater Boston area to students enrolled in the program. Boston
Semester students may also take advantage of Simmons's many connections with
local for- and non-profit organizations to gain experience in a profession
through a 4-credit internship. Finally, through service learning or community
service options, Boston Semester students may participate in activities designed
to strengthen communities.

of special interest to Boston Semester students?
A number of Simmons courses focus on urban issues or take advantage of Simmons
unique location or relationship with other institutions in Boston. Some examples
are Politics of Cities, Architecture of Boston, and Schools in an Era of Change.

Are there any extracurricular activities?
You bet! There's plenty to do in Boston and there is always a lot happening
right here at Simmons. Simmons has more than 50 student organizations, as
well as varsity athletics teams, intramural
and just-for-fun activities, and year round activities and events to

When is the Boston Semester at Simmons offered?
The Boston Semester at Simmons will be offered each fall and spring semesters.

What is the tuition for the Boston Semester?
Tuition for the Boston Semester is $12,957. The cost for room and board is $5355. There is a $103 student activity fee and a health fee of $294, which covers access to the services at the Simmons Health Center. Students who
do not provide proof of health insurance are required to pay an additional
fee for accident and health insurance coverage. Please inquire about financial
aid at your home college or university.

Does Simmons offer accommodations?
On-campus housing is available on the Simmons College residence campus, a traditional
New England quadrangle in an urban setting. The Holmes Sports Center includes
an Olympic size pool, sauna, weight room, indoor track, basketball gymnasium,
squash and racquetball courts, rowing room, dance room, and exercise machines.

Can I transfer credits earned at Simmons to
my home institution?
All Boston Semester courses will likely satisfy undergraduate requirements
at your college or university. Please refer to the Simmons
course catalog to help your college or university determine which credits
taken at Simmons may be accepted for transfer. You will need to complete and
submit the Course Approval-Registration-Transcript Form.
Note: Enrollment in classes is contingent on space availability and
instructor's consent .

Who is eligible to apply to the Boston Semester
at Simmons?
Students who have completed two semesters of study at a fully accredited, four-year
college or university, with a minimum 2.5 GPA are eligible to apply. The
Boston Semester at Simmons, as well as most of our graduate programs, is open
to both women and men.

How and when will I be notified if I have
been accepted to the Boston Semester at Simmons?
You will be notified of your acceptance to the program by email, if you have
provided an address on your application form, or by hard copy mail. In either
case, you will be notified within 21 days of your application being complete.
