Majors in Music There will now be a single music major with
two tracks, one in performance and another in
music history and literature. No other changes in the academic program
will take place. The requirements for the tracks will be the same
as those currently listed for the two majors in the 2002-2004 Catalog.
Requirements.
Students are required to complete thirty-two semester hours, distributed
as follows:
Applied Music Major
Four applied music
courses,
One course in theory or
theoretical studies,
One course in music history
and literature, and
Two electives chosen from
music history or theory courses, depending upon interest.
Music History and Literature Major
Four applied music courses,
One course in theory or
theoretical studies,
One course in music history
and literature, and
Two electives chosen from
music history or theory courses, depending upon interest.
Interdepartmental Major and Minor in
Arts Administration
The Department of Art and Music offers an interdepartmental major
in arts administration with an emphasis in music. A minor in arts
administration is also offered.
