SIT Cameroon: Development and Social Change

SIT Camaroon

Study in Yaounde, Cameroon: a unique city affected by German, Belgian, and French influences which now stands as the country’s commercial and communications hub.

Host Institution: The SIT Cameroon Development and Social Change program is based in Yaounde, Cameroon in West Africa. As part of this program, you will be able to examine the development, changing cultures, politics, and economy of Cameroon. In addition, you will explore the immigrant experience of Cameroonians in France by spending a week in France.

Although the majority of the courses are taught in English, you will receive Intensive French language instruction as well as learn basic Pidgin English and Fulfulde, all three being languages which are spoken in Cameroon. You will be able to choose between an Internship Seminar or Independent Study for this program.

Majors*: Ideal for students in humanities, business and liberal Arts with a strong academic background and interest in peacebuilding/development work.

Housing*:  Homestay 

Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA.
