Study in Aarhus, Denmark: A city with a vibrant mix of youthful energy, a long history, and beautiful nature! Aarhus sits on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula, 100 miles from Copenhagen. Aarhus is one of the oldest cities in Scandinavia, but one of the youngest in terms of the average age of its inhabitants—far lower than anywhere else in Denmark.

Host Institution: Aarhus University (AU) is a young, modern university established in 1928. It has grown to become a leading public research university with international reach covering the entire research spectrum, and is listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings top 100. As a study abroad student at AU, you will take classes in English with Danish and other international students. Although Danish is the primary language of instruction at AU, there are an array of courses in various subject areas in English. While studying at AU, students are required to maintain full-time status by enrolling in 30 ECTS credits (3-6 classes).

Majors*: AU offers coursework (taught in English) for Simmons students in the humanities and liberal arts including the following majors: art, music, history, communications, journalism, information technology, sociology, and women & gender studies. AU does not provide coursework in the natural, social, and health sciences. Aarhus also offers classes that fulfill many Key Content Areas (KCAs).

Housing*:  Students reside in dormitory accommodation on campus.

Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA.
