"If I had to choose an organelle which one would I be?" I would be the mitochondria. My reason for this is because I would be independent. I would make my DNA and be the respiratory center of the cell. Another reason I would be the mitochondria is because I would be the powerhouse. I'd be the place where all the energy is supplied. I would also be able to divide and make more mitochondria. That is why I would be this particular organelle. --Jaslin
Multi-Cultural Essay Something Danny would like to change is racism because he believes that it's wrong and immoral. It puts people down and stereotypes people. Danny hasn't really experienced racism, but it really makes him mad seeing people getting disrespected all the time. Racism puts people down and does not encourage them. He doesn't like it and thinks that it is unfair.--Stephanie
Persuassive Essay Another example is when Manny's father is under the influence he usually goes to the bar and stays there for a very long time. Then Manny's mother had to come to pick him up, which Manny's mother hated to do. That is the second example that I know of.--Andre
Life As A Yellow Helium Balloon I lay here just invisioning the day when I finally get chosen from among all of the other colors. I can feel the helium filling my body. As my stomach inflates, I begin to rise. I rise, rise, rise, until suddenly I am jerked to a hault by a string tied tight around my neck. I knew this was too good to be true. Who would ruin this for me? It was no one else but my worst enemy holding my life on a string. It was a little boy with bright carrot hair and a freckled face. He smiled widely showing small black teeth that reminded me of chewed licorice. He seemed to be excited about having me, but I knew in my heart that there was only mischievous thoughts on his mind. I knew what he had in store for me. I could just feel him dragging me wildly through the air with furious winds beating against my fragile body. I felt the braches of trees skim slightly across my stomach just enough to miss punctring my skin leading me once again to live an air-less life. I feared for my life. As much as I wanted to be free from the basket of "superior" colors, I did not want to lose my life. I did not want to loese my life for the want to be free. By some chance, I felt myself once again rising slowly into the air. It seems that little licorice toothed carrot top had just enjoyed a vanilla cone, which left him with some sweet residue on his hand. This residue is what saved my preious life. As I now roam freely in the sky. i felt wonderful. I was brushed by the feathers of birds and kissed by the clouds. The people below me looked like an army of ants preparing for battle. The tree tops looked like broccoli stalks dancing in the wind. The tents from the country fair reminded me of a candy cane, and I'm glad to be free.--Anika
What does it mean to be an American? People in America don't take advantage of the resources we have, but when immigrants immigrated to America they see all the things their countriesneed and how many advantages we have. If you have noticed Americans are greedy, greedy for money, and that's why most immigrants are more successful than Americans because they use our advantages. --Kehinda

The Cell If I could be an organelle I would be the nucleus of the cell. I would want ot be the nucleus because it is the control center of the cell. Being the nucleus relates back to leadership. That is where I would like to stand.
