Simmons SOM graduate students represent a rich talent pool, with a wide range of experience and career goals. To meet their needs, the Career Services Office (CSO) provides tailored support, including individual career advising and employer advocacy. The CSO team provides students with the tools, skills, and guidance required to conduct an effective career transition or job search. A customized online recruiting and job-posting database allows students and alumnae/i to research employment opportunities and to learn about companies that are interested in Simmons SOM graduates.

Individual Career Advising

We offer individual career advising to help students evaluate their career options, and develop/execute a successful job search plan. We partner with students to help them position themselves strategically as they prepare their self-marketing tools. These include crafting a marketing-driven resume, elevator pitch, success stories and cover letters. In addition, students can develop and practice interview and networking techniques. Lastly, we provide counsel to students as they evaluate opportunities and negotiate offers.

Career Workshops & Speaker Series

This is a combination of skills-based workshops, guest speakers, industry panels, and information sessions that will help students and alumnae/i (in the midst of a job search or transition) explore career options and expand professional networks. Each event is designed to prepare students and alumnae/i throughout the various stages of their job search, from self-assessment to the final interview/offer phase. 

Employer & Alumnae/i Networking Events

The CSO hosts employer throughout the year — from traditional career fairs to more intimate gatherings — where employers visit the SOM to network with students interested in learning about their organizations, as well as to have substantive conversations with potential candidates. In addition, students can network with alumnae/i guests to learn about their organizations and build relationships with seasoned professionals from the SOM community.

Career Connect - Job Posting & Career Management Portal

Career Connect is the SOM's customized online career management, recruiting, and job posting database, which allows SOM students and alumnae/i to learn about job opportunities and companies interested in SOM candidates. We also use Career Connect to post, share, and collect RSVPs for career events and workshops. 

Boston MBA Career Services Consortium

Simmons partners with seven Boston-area business schools to provide students with networking and career events that incorporate the city's MBA community.

Information for External Networking Events

Through emails, newsletters, and other communications, we inform students and alumnae/i about SOM happenings, course updates, job opportunities, events, and other pertinent information.
