Innovation

SLIS Technology supports teaching, learning and research. Students are taught to create, manage, and produce information, not just to consume it. Therefore, students learn SLIS-specific information science and technology, which requires SLIS-specific support. SLIS Technology is responsible for everything from managing and maintaining all of the SLIS Technology spaces including the: Tech Lab (P-213), Collaboratory (P-314), Media Lab (P-313H), Usability Lab (P-204E & P), and a PC Lab (P-214) to running free workshops for students, faculty and staff on emerging technologies.

Blogs

SLIS Technology supports active wikis and blogs used by faculty, staff, and students. Simmons SLIS blogs include the Student Experience Blog, maintained by the SLIS Admissions Office, and Unbound: Library Futures Unfettered, an exploration of cutting-edge topics in the LIS field.
