Simmons Jobline

All Simmons SLIS alumni can subscribe for a weekly Jobline email announcement. The Jobline broadcasts available positions in the many library related areas. You can search the Jobline and other career resources at On the Jobline, you can also post an announcement looking for student interns to assist you with any professional projects.

SLIS Technology Lab and Workshops

Alumni are welcome to use the SLIS Technology Lab, located in P-213. Staff are available for consultation, email/network assistance, and other support issues. Before visiting, please contact the Tech Lab in advance by phone, (617) 521-2802, or email Alumni can attend free technology workshops, which cover a variety of emerging technology topics. Each semester, ten unique topics are offered and online registration is available here for the current offerings:

SLIS Alumni Board

The SLIS Alumni Board sponsors several events per year to connect alumni. Career panels and networking events are scheduled for the spring and fall, as well as the annual Alumni and Professional Development Day. Please feel free to contact the SLIS Alumni Board by email at to get involved.

Audit courses

SLIS Alumni have the opportunity to audit graduate courses on a space-available non-credit basis for $400 or an undergraduate course for $250. Audits are processed through the Registrar's Office.  Students should reach out via email at or by calling their office at 617-521-2111 if they wish to audit a course.

SLIS InfoLink

InfoLink is a tumblr blog produced for the SLIS community of students, faculty, staff and alums. The blog features articles focused on a vital aspect of the LIS profession. Subscribe by emailing your contact information to You can also access InfoLink articles via our News page. 

Beatley Library

SLIS graduates can take advantage of the Beatley Library resources, including the latest electronic resources (onsite access only). You can also access Reference Services by contacting the SLIS Librarian and other Library reference staff. The Mentoring Program assists students by providing insights into competencies required in various professional areas, assessing current skill sets and suggesting possible projects and activities for enhancements, and setting up the beginnings of a professional network. Work with Admissions

SLIS Admissions would love to have your help in recruiting future SLIS students, as a SLIS Alumni Ambassador. There are several ways you can get involved, including speaking on an alumni panel at monthly information sessions, being available to email with prospective students to answer any questions, and to be an alumni representative at to off-campus recruiting fairs. Career Education Center (CEC)

The CEC provides career coaching through individual appointments to alums. ​Alums are allotted four appointments per year, in person on campus or via phone or skype. Alums still ​have access to CareerLink. ​​For more information please visit CEC for Alumnae/i
