Simmons College emphasizes hands-on preparation for the world of work and advanced study. Our chemistry and physics programs and facilities are designed to help students build competence and confidence as professionals.
Components of this approach are extensive, hands-on contact with modern equipment, hands-on research experience, individual student laboratory carrels for chemistry-related majors, easy access to the faculty, and our Boston location affords opportunities for additional laboratory work in hospital and other labs. The Chemistry and Physics Department has an award-winning Student Affiliate Chapter of the American Chemical Society.
Recent majors and minors have taken positions in industry or have entered medical school, law school, dental school, or PhD programs in physics, chemistry, biochemistry, and engineering.
