Simmons College Trustman Gallery presents "A Day in the Life of Simmons College"

BOSTON (April 24, 2002) - Simmons College presents "A Day in the Life of Simmons," April 29 to May 30 at the Simmons College Trustman Art Gallery, fourth floor, Main College Building, 300 The Fenway. There will be a reception May 6 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. The gallery is free and open to the public.

"A Day in the Life of Simmons College" is an exhibit of photographs by more than 120 members of the College community who, on Feb. 26, 2003, participated in a photo shoot that recorded life at Simmons. Among the photographers are students, faculty, staff, maintenance, and security personnel who express their individual observations relating to their lives at the College.

The work is presented without attribution in order to emphasize the spirit of a whole community. This is similar to the format that the Museum of Modern Art in New York City embraced when MOMA created a post Sept. 11 exhibition of photography by New Yorkers with no distinction being made between the professional and the amateur photographers.

Exhibit hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The gallery is wheelchair accessible. For more information, contact Christine Kromer at 617-521-2268 or visit the Trustman Art Gallery Web site.

Simmons College is a nationally recognized, small, private, predominantly women’s university in the heart of Boston. It has undergraduate programs for women and graduate programs for women and men.
