» press releaseSimmons College Celebrates Annual International Women's Day March 7th BOSTON (March 3, 2003) – Simmons College will host Boston’s annual International Women’s Day March 7th, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Simmons College Conference Center, 300 The Fenway. This event is open to the public, and has a suggested donation of $5. The focus of the day will be “Perspectives on Women's Health,” with Simmons College Sociology Professor Patricia Rieker speaking on “Women's Health is a Human Rights Issue,” and a panel discussion to follow. The moderator is Michele David, M.D., and panelists include Zobeida Bonilla, Ph.D.., Boston Women's Health Book Collective; Roseanna Means, M.D., Women of Means; and Liz Metallinos-Katsaras, Ph.D.., R.D., Simmons College Department of Nutrition. Simmons has been selected to be the official Boston site of this celebration for the past five years and has annually attracted more than 100 women from the Boston area. The Simmons College Institute for Leadership and Change is co-sponsoring this event with more than 25 grass-roots women’s organizations.
