» press releasePresident of Acclaimed "Seeds of Peace" to Address Arab-Israeli Conflict Oct. 29 at Simmons College BOSTON (Oct. 15, 2003) -- The president of the internationally renowned Seeds of Peace organization will discuss whether Israeli-Palestinian peace is possible, Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. in the Simmons College Main College Building, third floor conference center. The event is free and open to the public. Aaron David Miller is president of Seeds of Peace, the internationally acclaimed program created after the first attack on the World Trade Center, which brings children from warring countries together to learn how to co-exist. Their flagship camp is based in Maine. Miller is also a former State Department negotiator. At Simmons, Miller will address the major hurdles that Israel and Palestine face in attaining peace, whether there is still a role for third-party mediation, and if a two-state solution is still possible. After three years of conflict, Miller will discuss what went wrong, what could go right, and Seeds of Peace's vision for bridging the gulf that confounds soldiers and diplomats alike. The event is a Warburg lecture, named for Joan Warburg of Greenwich, CT, a 1945 Simmons College graduate who established the Warburg Chair in International Relations with her husband, James P. Warburg.CONTACTKatie Fiermonti NOTEreporters: contact Katie Fiermonti in the public relations office if you'd like to cover the lecture. Simmons College is wheelchair accessible.
