» press releaseGSM Study Examines Girls’ Perceptions of Business The Graduate School of Management recently began a major research study on middle and high school girls’ perceptions of business careers. Using a national survey and focus groups in selected educational institutions, the project will examine key factors affecting girls’ attitudes about careers and their perceptions of business. The project will also identify the key influences affecting girls and young women in their career decisions, and examine what middle schools, high schools, colleges, and other educational organizations are doing to introduce, encourage, and support girls to pursue careers in the business world. The study is a collaboration with the Committee of 200, an international professional organization of preeminent women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders who seek to empower the future generation of women business leaders. Findings will be available in fall 2002. |
