Simmons Holds Global Community Service Day April 26

Students, faculty, staff, and alumnae/i will provide their warmth and volunteer spirit April 26 during the third annual Simmons College Global Community Service Day, sponsored by Scott/Ross Center for Community Service.

Members of the Simmons community will participate in educational and charitable activities with 150 visiting Boston Public School students and students from other local educational programs.

Volunteers also will work with the students to create blankets for Project Linus, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing "security blankets" to seriously ill or traumatized children. Additionally, volunteers will lead the students on a tour of the campus, and read books to them.

To make the day truly global, the Scott/Ross Center encourages alumnae/i worldwide to participate in their own community service projects and report back with results. To volunteer for an activity, including quilting or sewing for the Linus Project, contact Snehal Naik at 521.2421. For more information on Project Linus, visit www.projectlinus.org.
