AskNow, Learn Now

What do you do if you are at home at night, in your pajamas, and you need help finding a statistic on the Internet? Use your computer to access AskNow, a live, real-time reference service for the Simmons community.

AskNow (www.simmons.edu/libraries/asknow) provides online access to a Simmons librarian who can assist faculty, staff, and students in using the many articles and book databases to which the Simmons Libraries subscribes. These databases include nearly 10,000 full-text online journals and 8,000 full-text online books, enabling users to find information from statistics on high school drop-out rates, to a critical analysis of Pride and Prejudice.

"Digital reference is a revolutionary service, because it provides library help to users where, when, and how they need it. We are very excited about this service, as are faculty and students who have tried it," said Patricia Krajewski, reference librarian and one of the coordinators of the reference project.

This online digital reference service is available from any location with an Internet connection, Sunday-Thursday, 7:00 p.m.- midnight. For more information about AskNow, call Patricia at 617-521-2756.
