Terry Plum Named as Director of Simmons College Library Programs

BOSTON (July 17, 2002) –Professor Terry Plum has been named Director of the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) at Mount Holyoke College Program. He was previously the Assistant Director.

Plum joined the faculty at GSLIS in the fall of 2000. Prior to that he was the coordinator of Computer-Based Information Services in Research and a network services librarian at the University of Connecticut.

Plum received his BA in English from Middlebury College, a master of librarianship degree from the University of Washington, a master of arts in anthropology from the University of Connecticut, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in anthropology at the University of Connecticut.

The Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science has the largest library and information science master’s program in the nation and places librarians around the world. The GSLIS campus at Mt. Holyoke College allows students in western New England to more easily pursue a master’s degree in library and information science.
