College Conference BOSTON (April 19, 2002) The complexity of leadership, including leadership of an ill-fated expedition to Antarctica and organizational leadership in "knowledge management," will be explored Wednesday, May 15 in a program sponsored by the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS). The GSLIS Alumni Day, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and open to the public, will be at 300 The Fenway in Boston. The Alumni Day will honor its own with two alumni speaking on leadership. Shackletons Way author Margot Morrell 75 will speak on leadership qualities that apply to all professions, drawing from her book that uses Sir Ernest Shackletons story of perseverance as a template for managerial and team building skills in the workplace. Laurence Prusak 82, a managing principal with IBM Global Services, is the founder and executive director of the Institute of Knowledge Management, a global consortium engaged in advancing the practice of knowledge management through action research.
