International Best-Selling Novelist to Speak at Simmons College Sept. 11
Acclaimed Author Jane Hamilton to Discuss New Book "Disobedience"

BOSTON (Sept. 6, 2001) – Jane Hamilton, best-selling author of "A Map of the World" and "The Book of Ruth," will speak on her newest novel, "Disobedience," Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Conference Center at Simmons College, 300 The Fenway, Boston. The event is free and open to the public.

Hamilton’s award-winning books have become international bestsellers and selections of the Oprah Book Club. In "Disobedience," the author tackles the topic of coming of age in the computer age.

The event is sponsored by the Simmons College Women’s Studies Department, the Simmons Graduate Program in Gender/Cultural Studies, and New Words Bookstore. For more information, contact Diane Hammer at the Simmons Institute for Leadership and Change at 617-521-2480.
