» press releaseSimmons College Dean Receives Award From American Society of Criminology BOSTON (Dec. 14, 2001) Lynne Goodstein, Ph.D., dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Professional Studies at Simmons College, was recently awarded the prestigious Herbert Bloch Award from the American Society of Criminology (ASC). The award, given for service to the society and the profession of criminology, is one of five such honors bestowed by the society. Goodstein, who has published three books and more than 40 professional articles on correctional institutions, criminal sentencing, and women in the criminal justice system, is treasurer of the ASC and has been a member of the society since 1996. Simmons College is a nationally recognized, small, private, predominantly womens university in the heart of Boston. It has undergraduate programs for women and graduate programs for women and men. |
