I joined the Simmons faculty full time in 2007 after many years teaching in clinical settings for both Quincy College and Simmons College. I received a BSN from Boston University and MSN from Boston College. I am certified as a clinical specialist in adult mental health nursing and have more than 30 years of experience working in many clinical settings: inpatient, outpatient, day treatment, HMOs and as a consultant. Most recently, I have been involved with young adult and their families who are managing a family member with mental illness in psycho-educational support groups. I have a special interest in consultation/liaison nursing and individuals; “beliefs” - the ways that cultural, spiritual, legal and ethics intersect and influence perceptions of illness and care giving. I am the current chair of the Nursing Academic Review Board and a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
